ADD Posted January 24, 2007 Share Posted January 24, 2007 ive had the same IK24's in my soop since whiffbitz puts bits and bobs on it back in early 2006 (8k miles ago)..so i changed them yesterday and oh my god the car is boosting really well (straight up to 1.1 bar) Now, ive just thought is it purely phsycological or would this happen? MarkTheBoy Posted January 24, 2007 Share Posted January 24, 2007 I'd be interested in the answer to this too. Sounds like a newbie question but what does changing your plugs actually improve? Timing? Size of spark therefore size of explosion? Surely if the ones already fitted are doing there job what do you gain? Likewise with a replacement fuel pump are you simply bringing the fueling back to what it used to be before wear and tear got the better of it, or does it actually kindof 'force more in'? ADD Posted January 25, 2007 Author Share Posted January 25, 2007 I took out Ik24's and replaced them with IK24's so exactly the same plugs! the gap was considerably bigger in the old warn ones, so replacing the plugs gives a purer spark which makes sense. Tricky-Ricky Posted January 25, 2007 Share Posted January 25, 2007 I won't touch Denso iridium plugs, to fragile, electrodes and insulation tend to drop off if subjected to det, and i don't like bits of metal and ceramics floating around my engine;) NGK platinum of just std type.
