Aluminium floor mats?

I think quite the opposite! The carpet ones fail after a time as your heel will eventually dig through and damage below.

The metal section works a treat, wet or dry. I'm curious as to how it can be dangerous when wet? It's not like it supports your weight or anything

You are welcome to sit in my car at the Ace and you will see how your heel resting on the metal will slip around. You do not need to weight of your body to do this, just the weight of your foot is enough to slide around. Think about it for a second, the heel is what is making contact with the floor so you can accelerate. If it is slippery then you will have some problems...

Don't take my word for it though. You are welcome to purchase them and see for yourself. ;)

Gamer it will be an honour to sit in your car (just take the keys out beforehand, you can't trust me ha ha). But I have those metal things there in my own supra, I much prefer them and don't find slippage a problem. Then again I don't drive in the wet if I can help it

I much prefer these that I obtained from Wayne (supradibbs) (I really need to take a better pic of em ;)):

I had mats with a metal part to them, and they are indeed slippery when wet - not dangerous, just feel uncomfortable for the first few minutes when driving!
