stock sony head unit

hi all,

would anyone be able to help please? i was using the volume nob on the unit and next thing it was in my hand!:blink:. so naturally i pushed it back in but now the volume wont go up or down:( unless i push in very hard and then it does'nt always work. does this now mean, out with old and in with new or can anything be done on a temporary basis?
