MrRalphMan
DONT click on any of the links in the mail, send it to [email protected] and they will confirm if it's real or not.
markjodrell
paypal NEVER ask you for ant=y passwords or details. Ignore it and forward a copy to them To check your account log in independantly, all can be seen from there,
tbourner
Spoofs only ever say "Dear eBay member" or "Dear PayPal member" as well, they don't know your username. Easiest way is to hover over the link with your mouse, the real location is shown in the bottom left of Internet Explorer - if it isn't "https://www.paypal.com/..." then don't click it!! Pot
How often do you recieve money via Paypal, that letter doesn't indicate that you're due to recieve £4.5k, but you've recieved that much over a period of time?... Anyhow, it doesn't seem to be too spoofy, as it tells you to log into your account and go to a page instead of saying to click on a link... MrRalphMan
As long as you bring up PP manually and log in, then it should be fine (As Pot says). There should be an alert/message on the front screen regarding this.
Jezz
Its legit. I had to do this recently. If there's been more than £4500 in/out of your paypal account since you opened it, you need to go to the overview, and it will give you instructions. They will put a small amount of cash in your bank account, then you have to let them know how much it was to confirm you are who you say you are.
