Hi,

I recently referbed my jap spec lights, and sparyed the insides black to it the facelift look, came out well but.....

one of the light has fogged up!

Whats the best way of sortin this out?

Will i have to take the light apart again?(which i dont want to do)

Or will i get away with just taking the light out and resealing them?

Whats the best thing to use when resealing them, that black windscreen silicone type stuff iv heard?

Also, if i dont take them apart how do i get rid of the condensation? Will a hairdryer work?

Have also heard people using silica gel in their to get rid of it.

Any help appreciated,

Cheers.

try heating them back up but leaving the metal clips in place, the clips are pretty strong so with the sealant a bit softer they might pull together a bit more and enough to seal them

I had this problem a few years ago, my lights have been fine since. I took the lights apart again, heated up the main body of the light and took sealant from the places where it look thick and added it to the thinner areas. I put the clear parts back on and heated each assembly in the oven again and put the clips on while hot.

I decided to take them apart again, got rid of all condinsation and resealed them again. However, i still fear they might fog up again. Obviously this would be the best time to add an extra sealant, what does people use?

Is it the widscreen stuff the best stuff to use as an extra sealant? Or anything else anybody use to stop that fooged up look?
