Hello Everyone - Some Advice Needed Please

Came across this web-site tonight and have been reading loads of threads etc but need some advice asap before I pay up in full for a TT 94 Auto.

I have been looking for ages for a quality Rev3 MR2 Turbo to replace the one I sold about 3.5 years ago, however stumbled across the Supra TT about a week ago and haven't been able to stop looking for a decent one since.

I came across the car at the weekend and will be paying the deposit tomorrow morning, just wanted to get some re-assurance that the price was right for the spec etc as I found the private sellers ad that was placed prior to part exchanging with a local trader. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The link for the ad is

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/116510.htm

The trader has it up for £7,950.00 - so any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully I will be spending more time on this forum in the weeks to come;)

Hmmm,

Without knowing anything about the car...

Nothing seems to be fitted properly..

the fcon looks a bit hacked in,

the panel under the dash isn't screwed in properly..

handbrake looks very scruffy...

This would also worry me..

'all the car needs it to be mapped as when engine was taken apart it showed signs of detonation on the pistons, could have been there for a long time but best not taking the risk.

Have a look around here, and speak to a few of the traders, may find something you like here.

the car was also ment to be top fuels demo car in japan but again i have to evidence to back this up. but with the spec id expect it to make at least 440+bhp

On stock j-spec tubbies, HIGHLY unlikely.... on hybrids...still pushing it a bit I reckon.. but as max said, the engine bay looks a little unloved, especially if it has just had a rebuild.

Thanks guys. Since coming across this ad I have been feeling uncomfortable about proceeding and I think I will carry on looking for the moment:rolleyes:

At least the wife will be happy for a few more weeks!

I'd avoid that one.

The ECU will cost you a lot to get mapped properly.

Why on earth has it got 850cc injectors when it's still on the stock turbos?

Why has it got a 1.6mm head gasket?

The seller doesn't even know what bumper is on the car - it's a Bomex Bigmouth not a Top Secret.

The engine bay is in a shocking state
