i have an aol broadband account at home, and just started renting a house in harwich as working there for a while, i have just had a phone line connected which will be broadband enabled, now can i use my aol from there or do i have to get a new contract for that house

You would need to get a new contract...

You can get some contracts which are monthly and don't have the 12 month lock in, which might be an option...

you may be able to transfer your existing contract over to that address....however that would obviously disable the service at the old property if you or someone you know still wished to use it there.

i was with Virgin who don't have a 12 month contract BUT they will charge you a £50 cancellation fee if you cancel before 12 months is up

im with BE broadband, 24meg adsl2. havent had any issues so far. i believe they do a pay as you go / no contract service. if you want to give them a go let me know, i'll put you forward and we both get a month free :d

Ah, i'd looked into BE, is it any good, my dad said it would be crap as its not possible to get that speed through a phone line..

Tell me its true as i'm in their catchment area and sounds very good.

How are you finding it and they say speeds are reduced depending on where the exchange is, how do i find out where it is?

Not on our exchange dude.... My ADSL line rarely gets 6mb. sorry...
