Romantic places in New York??

Firstly I'm hoping that the bad smell as mentioned in the other thread disappears soon, otherwise it's not going to happen.

Going to New York in Feb and finally going to make an honest woman out of the missus. Any recommendations of where would be a good place to do the deed (propose, not have sex in public....). we're going on a helicopter ride which I'm thinking would be a good time to do it. Don't want it to be Empire State building as her mate recently got proposed to there so want it to be different.

Ideas would be most welcome guys and girls.

How about a ride on a horse drawn carriage around central park. She might ask you to buy her a fur coat at this time of year tho'

Horse carriage ride thorugh central park, but don't stop to get out or you'll get mugged. :)

I was there a few months ago and Central Park is amazing, I would go there then on to dinner at Jean Georges at Trump Tower International, New York 10023 Central Park West, one of the best meals I have ever had ;)

Seeing as how the horse & carriage rides are $40, how about asking her at the Wollman Ice Rink in Central Park? (As used in many a romantic movie)

Heard some bad stories about those rides, and the people overhcharging from friends who went on one this year.

Helicopter ride over Manhattan, top of the Empire State? :D Some plush resturant in NJ with the NY skyline in the background? :D

Good restaurant settings are. The Rainbow Room, the River Cafe, Petrossian and Tavern on the Green. ;)
