View Full Version : Does your girlfriend\wife LIKE your supra ?
In a similar vein to http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=95151, just wondered if I was alone in this.
My missus HATES going in my Supra :D The speed, acceleration, bumpiness everything !
Vicki hated the suspension on Mertoc after I'd changed it - too hard for her. Said it made her sick.
Loved the other two...when I'm taking it steady. Adores the Tiger.
I always feel like James "slut" when Im in his supra. Don't know why though. :D
Mine was VERY impressed when I first started to go out with her, I picked her up at the station and couldn't believe it that I had a Supra rather than most other shite cars people have... she is still with me and the deal is I don't look at her clothes receipts, she doesn't see my petrol/mod receipts...
my girlfriend thinks my supe is "gay" but she like to be driven about in it
Mine loves it :)
and the supra.
seems to, but thinks of it as a death machine with 4 wheels and silver
Yep she really likes it, I keep talking about selling it and getting an RX7 and she sulks, lol, she gets scared when I drive it fast though, lol just shuts her eyes and grips hold of things (parts of the car, stop it!!!)
Love it. Now the flat's finished hopefully he can get a TT and I can have it.

Enough said really :D And Sabrina liked it so much she went out and bought her own (which is parked in my driveway :) )

She cant understand why I keep 'fixing' things that are not broken!! :)
She nots keen on the car but puts up with it.... its the bike she really hates:search:
She loves it, loved going round the Nurburgring and I'm taking her on a my next track day all being well :D She wants a drive tho.. but she aint getting it just yet ;)
My misses hates the Supra and pretty much refuses to go out in it.
She hates it. Good job i'm f*ckin a girl that loves it then really or i might just give a shit.
Sorry. Bad day. :(

Mine likes it, until your sat at lights with people staring in. (apparently thats not her good side :D)
My misses hates the Supra and pretty much refuses to go out in it.Yep, same here. It has to be the absolutely last resort for her to get in it. She'd rather not go somewhere than go in the Supra. She'll happily drive my auto Supra herself though, it's just when I'm driving that she doesn't like it.
Anywhere we go together we always go in her Land Rover.
Mine love the Supra, but doesn't like the attention it gets. She also doesn't like the amount of £££ I spend on it.
Ok next question. Is the hate because of the amount of money/time/effort etc you spend on your cars or for the actually look and feel of the car itself?

My ex girlfriend didn't like my Supe, she wanted me to get a boy racer pug 106 gti hence the "ex" bit lol :d
Bit of both I reckon, I've had some comments from women about the car being too loud because of the stock wing etc, the car generally is a bit OTT and large for some girls.
she hates pretty much everything about it, she likened it to "a chaved up sierra or something"
hit the second turbo once with her in, she didn't like it one bit (didn't help the rear end had a bit of a party across the tarmac):search: .
Although I may have got a breakthrough last week, she'd been out on a works do and was very pissed, so on way home she gave it the "let's see what the second turbo feels like then" she didn't have to ask twice, don't think she'll be asking that again. She also caught me off guard, because otherwise I'd have turned the boost up to 1.2 bar....:eyebrows:
The ladies love the car! sometimes more than they love me :D haha
I think mine hates the attention it gets, the suspension is very very hard and its also so fecking loud I dont have a stereo fitted.
Oh yeah, I have no heating either :p

Yeah that, just my misses who doesnt like it :eyebrows:
If a GF doesnt like my car, then I simply get a replacement.
GF obviously :D

Mine doesn’t really like the Supra. She thinks it’s too noisy, uncomfortable and uses too much petrol. We nearly always go out in her Micra as she loves driving and complains I drive too slow!
My wife hates it, too 80's looking and not very environmently freindly................fuck off.
Mine likes the car apart from the extra attention it gets when I am out in the car w/o her. Whatever gave her the idea that I get this extra attention, I don't know. :innocent: Must be a woman's intuition thing.
Too loud
Too fast
Too low
Too hard (the suspension :sly: )
Too much expense
Too much attention
Too bad for the environment
She HATES it :D
Anywhere we go together we always go in her Land Rover.
Yep same here, end up going in the might Micra (lilac! :D). She drives though :)
She loves the car. Which is why 'we' can't sell it and get 'us' meaning me out of debt. Women!

Mine absolutely hates it.......
... at the moment, well she is 8 months pregnant.. Finds it very difficult to get in and out and the ride does her no favours.
Normally she loves it, although she makes good use of the door handle when the loud pedal gets pressed. :)
My wife loves the car, infact she built the install and door pods. She also did some of the wiring and building of the car. She's a proper mechanic wannabe.
Me and my ex-fiance actually split up over me wanting a Supra, it was nothing to do with the Supra mind - just the extra debt we didn't need at the time. It was the straw that broke the camels back and all that. With hindsight she was right to be fair.
After we split up and we sold our house I (ironically enough) then had enough money to buy a Supra, which I did.
We're still mates and when she saw it she absolutey loved it - I let her have a go too and she loved it even more!
She did drive round the block at 10mph though worried sick she mght curb my alloys. :d :d

do you think if i was to meet a new g/f around my age that when i turn up in the supra with a rather loud exhaust (single) that she would think, great a bloody racer type of person as they arnt really gona know a supra are they? Or will they go, cool nice car lol :)

:d :d Funny you should say that fella. After I split up with my ex I took this MILF out who lived next door to the building site we were developing.
I'd always been dead proud of my Sup but for the first time ever I was embarassed when I picked her up. She was 32 and I'm 26 and like you I still feel (& look ;) ) 21. I knew she wouldn't be impressed by my RSR exhaust so I popped the baffle back in.
She never commented once on the car apart from moaning about how low it was. I take it from that she was not impressed.
If I was you mate I'd just date impressionable younger women, that works on all fronts! ;)

I suspect the former if they're not into their cars unfortunately :( . Most of my female mates seem to like the new wheels though - that said, mine's completely stock so no in-your-face exhausts! :p

Ask yourself this question, do you wanna be with a girl that doesn't think "cool nice car"?

Perfect mate, pop a matress in the back and you've got your very own Shag Van.
Me and my mate used to go everywhere in my old mans Transit with a matress in the back. We'd always ask birds if they wanted to come back to 'our place'.
Their faces when we took them back to the tranny was always priceless!

very true!! Because have to admit the supra is a big part of my life (spent enough on it) so she has to appriciate the car too. Dont you think or is that wrong?

Correct. If your supra means so much to you, why would you want to be with someone who thinks it's kak?

Immature, or youthful and exciting? There are two sides to every coin. The trick is to play it down, and not go on about it

as in when you see here waiting for you, dont do a full throttle run and let the external wastegate scare the shit out of her ?? lol
Exactly... you say, 'Oh, it's only a Toyota' :d
Exactly... you say, 'Oh, it's only a Toyota' :d
Which can backfire - I've had a couple of people asking quite surprised "Oh. It's a Toyota?". As if that makes it a useless car
I don't know if they mean it in a good or bad way though. They seem genuinely interested/impressed either way :)
Wife likes my current Supra, but loved the aerotop I had before. She wants me to get a 'James Bond car' next.
My gilrfreind loves cars and because I've been waiting for my supra 3-4months now she is currently threatening to leave me for Johnnyknox as she thinks I'm a car-less loser and that his car is gorgeous! :( :D
Any woman who says they don't like Supras is a big fibber. She doesn't want to give you the satisfaction of boosting your ego and your bell end. It's like sex. She loves it! Alot more than you think. Dirty dirty minx!
The only time they'll hate Supes is when you or she gets dumped. Come to think about it she'll hate everything about you. LOL!!!

I disagree, I had two girls (while crossing the road infront of me) lift there mini skirts up and show me there thongs, :p
My missus loves the Supra. She feels quite good when she is driving by herself in particular.
You know most men feel intimidated by a young women driving a powerfull car...;)
Only time she gets nervous is if the back end wiggles in this wet weather.lol.

She likes the car but does not like the fact that I do not let her drive it!! :d

Intercourse? What's that? :search: Do you mean sh4gging? Yeah of course. About once a year. :innocent: t's consistency that counts. I think.:D
im single so cant comment on a misses but the supe only brings me a barrage of abuse off girls when im in it. the usual ones along the lines of ''penis extension'' and ''daddies car'' the best was when i pulled up outside a kebab shop and a girl said ''oh look at that flash bastard, i bet he's a drug dealer!'' didnt know wether to take it as a compliment or not

No!!! Really? I can't tell. My guide dog told me what you looked like. :search: Sight hasn't been too good ever since I stepped on that landmine back in Nam, Chelt-Nam. Should've gone to Spec Savers.:d
My ladyfriend reckons I look like a complete twat in da Supra she calls it either "The capsule" "The X-wing fighter" or "The spaceship" theres a common theme. She also adds that If she seen me in the Supra she'd reckon I had a wee willy. Its as well she knows the truth IT IS WEE Booooohoooo!! He may be small but he's a good wee worker.
'Mine' can speak for herself but I'm pretty sure she likes it ;)
We both enjoy the whole Supra 'experience'; the car (of course), the meets, the trips, the looks, the speed...
We're both looking forward to returning to the Nurburgring this Summer and this time Kate might actually join me for a lap or two... we'll see! :)
No - she thinks hers is much better :(
she will hate it even more when she finds out i trashed a wheel drifting tonight and need some new ones!

It really all depends how I drive. Melanie is not keen on the hard suspension on the Supra, but compared to the Griff its like a magic carpet :D
As long as I drive sedately, then she'll put up with going out in either of them, but can't understand why I always drive around with the window open (even in the depths of winter) just so I can hear the exhaust. ;)
If I give either of them some stick, she gets the hump big time, and as I normally can't resist it, it makes for interesting journeys :rlol:
Mind you she has been through a lot with my cars. One time we took off over a hump back bridge, all 4 wheels off the ground in a Chrysler 300 ;) Another time when I was racing a Porsche out of Brighton in a '69 Plymouth GTX, she left permanent fingerprints in the dashboard from where she was gripping on so tight :D
She's driven the Supra and quite liked it, the Griff is a different kettle of fish :D

Sally loves the look of the my Supe but finds the ride hard and cramped inside ( my FTO was bigger inside and had a proper boot!!) but she thinks the Supe has real street presence
But we do tend to do longer journeys in it as it does about 12 mpg more on a long run than her RX8,
But the RX8 is just so comfortable ( i'm getting swayed by those comfy heated leather seats) that TBH you forget about the shit MPG 17 -24 the RX8 returns
but can't understand why I always drive around with the window open (even in the depths of winter) just so I can hear the exhaust. ;)
hehe I do that.

:d spot on with the window statement, I do the same thing....... heat up window open ;)
and once I start giving it some beans, I get the lecture about what would happen if a car pulled out or I lost control off the car!! I guess she is right really :(
