2JG
Evening all, just a quick question. Hoping to get my Volk rims refurbed this week after kerbing them last week I've been told that they won't be able to re-lacquer the polished lip afterwards, but am I right in thinking that the newer Volk/Rays polished lips aren't lacquered anyway due to road conditions in Japan? Your input is appreciated. Ta
merckx
I got my new Volk GTC's last Oct , there isn't any lacquer on the polished lip.
colsoop
Why wouldn't they be able to lacqueur them after polishing ?
2JG
Not entirely sure, went to see wicked wheels in Crawley today and they said they did a set of volk/rays recently and they said there was no lacquer on them as well. When I go back up I might ask if they can do something.
Lebsteif
Good question! that would be a pain in the arse to keep them shiny!
2JG
I've had mine 6 months and even with the winter weather so far they haven't lost their shine. Admittedly I do clean them every two weeks and then polish the lip afterwards.
Lebsteif
With what do you keep them nice and shiny?
colsoop
Assuming they are not lacquered a good metal polish such as "brilliant" to restore any lost shine followed by a wax to seal the shine and protecect from salt and brake dust, repeat weekly
