slight clonk?

ok this sounds bad lol

 

i have a tt manual

 

when i change gear sometimes hear a clonk

 

metal on metal clonk

 

someone said it is most probaly the donut on my prop to dif connection

 

sometimes u cant hear anything at all

 

its mainly from lift off to applying load

 

any suggestions??

 

had the gearbox and dif checked they were both fine he said there was a bit of play in the prop but didnt kno y??

 

is this the donut thing on it lol

 

and i need a new drivers side electric window assembly

 

as my wire frayed and jammed my motor

Mate,

 

The 'Clonk' is quite common on the 6 speed. I personally don't think it's a problem - I've had it on my car since I bought it 2 years ago. I've had the transmission checked out and there's nothing wrong with it.

Do a search mate, there's a few threads about it.

 

I'm not saying that you definitely don't have a problem. If you are worried have the car checked out by one of the specialist traders on this forum like Whifbitz. There is also Phoenix in Watford who are good with the Supra 6 speed gearbox/transmission

i have been driving on it fine

 

no crunching gears or slips etc

 

was just a weird thing

 

thanks ppl

 

i had the gearbow and dif checked and they were better than they expected for a 11yr old car lol
