Be warned, the film companies are watching, some of the files aren't what they seem - it's not uncommon for people to get messages from their ISPs telling them to behave (the film companies contact the ISP, not the end user).

I think someone on here had this a while ago? Jake perhaps, he's dodgy ;)

Lots of my best customers use Limewire, its full of Spyware and viruses ;)

From a business point of view, I highly recommend it :D

Friendly advice to a club member would be to not touch it with a bargepole ;)

i use forte agent newsgroup reader.tried limewire pro and some files you think you downloaded when you open them are porn films or some totally random film.
waste of time to me.

dont download like i used to do.

newsgroups are ok but hard to get your head around if you not used before.tried to show a couple of people to use and they could not get used to it.

i also use internet too.

Try mininova.com you can get owt you want from there - vids , albums , software , etc , but you need to download a bittorrent first and then divx if you want to watch the movies .

This does happen a fair bit. If you are going to use P2P software then you do need to take some precautions like PeerGuardian2 and keep your blocklists up to date.

OK, it's not complete protection, but its a damn sight better than nothing at all.

As for clients, uTorrent is by far the best BitTorrent client. If you are grabbing torrents then most of the time your will be downloading rar archives, get winrar to extract the contents to be played on whatever media player you use. Note that you can have issues playing films due to missing codecs, what you need in that case is VLC Media player as it does not use codecs and will play most anything.

Also a wise move is to steer well clear of public trackers and listing sites like torrentspy, full of fakes and crap, you'd be better off looking for a private tracker to sign up to. You will get much better speeds that way, 700kB's+, films in 18-20 minutes etc...

That's what I'd heard anyway ;)

Dude- you da man - thats a cool site!

Oh and p2p is cool if you use BLM and Protowall etc, provides a degree of protection

I did get a threatening email from my ISP about using eMule but it wasn't about a movie it was because I had WinFax 11 (or somesuch version) in my Shared Items folder.
The email said I had to give them a written undertaking to not reoffend or they would cut me off. I ignored it and they did nothing
I haven't used eMule since though.
I get pretty much everything I need/want from Usenet but like MonkeyMark said, it's not exactly user-friendly if you don't know what you're doing. It's still 10x better to use than poxy IRC though.

uTorrent is very good and lightweight, I prefer that to Azureus but I'm using the latter because of the Peerguardian plugin available for it.

Sign up to easynews for £5 a month and download all the films you'll ever want in .divx format. Fast downloads too, i usually get around 880k a sec.
