I bought a mongoose exhaust second hand of somebody a while back and have never gotten around to fitting it.

Anyway, popped up to my local Pro-tyres today and got them to fit it on, cat back system.

They charged me a very reasonable £40 fitting.

I was after a quiet exhaust hopefully not much noisier than OEM.

The Mongoose fits that decription very well.

It's comparible in exhaust note to a Standard 3 series 2.5 BMW.

It has a nice little burble on tickover and with just a little gas being applied.

Never intrusive and not so loud as to be head turning.

Being 3" diameter is will be less restrictive and that is quite apparent in response despite still having both cats still in place.

I noticed that the boost has crept up by about 1.5psi and have to say how much quicker such a small difference makes. My gauge is registering about 11.5psi.

The car pulls much stronger.

I,m quite amazed at how as little as a psi or two can be so noticeable.

God only knows what 1.2 bar would feel like .

Stsarting to see what the extra could do for me now....:D

That's stock boost. Perhaps you had a leak somewhere.

I dont think I have a leek or at least no reason to suspect one.

Car seems to be running about 10psi before which is roughly 0.7bar.

I here that stock boost is usually between 0.7/0.8 bar so I gather mine was about right for stock.

Of course I cant garantee my boost gauge is 100% accurate. Its only a cheap autogauge.

I had heard that putting an aftermarket exhaust from the cat back would most likely increae boost a psi or so and it did.

Ill take some pics tommorrow although it looks like the std exhaust. Same diameter etc.
