supRo
Hi, I'm after your opinions please. I now have 19" wheels so my old Weds 18's are spare. The 18's have F1 eagles on the back and Toyo T1R's on the front, all with good tread. They have been valued at about £550-£600 by Ibrar @ pro Alloys. I was tempted to sell these and buy some stock 17" wheels and then buy good track tyres for these. The reason why I'm now thinking of keeping the 18's is that with new tyres on the 17's the cost of the 17's with good track day tyres will be more than what I'm selling the 18's for. A friend of mine with a stock UK Supra drove mines (with the 18's on) and was very impressed with the handling but that's probably due to the Tein Coilovers and that the suspension is softer on a UK car compared to a Jap car. So what do I do? Keep the 18's or go for stock 17" wheels? Thanks, Ro
Chris Wilson
The price of decent track rubber in seventeen inch diameter is a LOT less than decent eighteen inch stuff, if that sways the opinion?
Terminator
The car was designed to run on 16". Toyota then made some adaptations to accommodate 17". On the track handling is very important, if not the most important factor. I would stay with the stock 17" if you want the best out of the cars geometry, combined with Chris's point, its a no brainer.
