Righto, Im utterly crap with computers so i need some help. Ive just set up my broadband connection and new internet security. the problem is web pages are not displaying properly. Some images are not displaying correctly (just showing as a red cross). My avatar is not being displayed for example.
Ive included an screen shot from my PC to show you lot what i mean.
How do i fix this?
I don't know exactly what its called, but remember this on mine a while back, was something to do with displaying graphics.
PM Gamer or phoenix-one, they are both top banannas on a pc!
its not norton, mcafee is it :/
have a look through those prgrams most of them are shite and block things like pictures
It could be an ad-blocker...
I use one within my firefox, just to help get rid of all the silly ads...
The other thing, it could be a delay in getting the images from the server which would cause that, have you tried refreshing the page to see if it works?

Try installing "Java" from Sun
Also be sure you have "Shockwave" and "Flashplayer" installed as this sorted my problems.
If not, try to reconfigure your firewall to accept gif/jpeg from this website.
Hope this helps.......
Andy.

You should be able to disable McAfee for a short while without uninstalling it. Disable it, check the pages again.. if they work just fine then it is McAfee, however don't just suddenly uninstall it otherwise who knows what you will pick up.
If you do uninstall mcafee... there are a few programs out there that do a good job for freee..

Just tried disabling it but it still has not worked so dont think McAfee is the problem.

Could also try downloading and using firefox, see if you have the same problem within that browser. If you dont then it is related to Internet Explorer, if you do then you know it is sef a peice of software on the PC.
Shouldnt need to install any extra software to display images on a webpage as IE is already designed to be able to accomadate images, it just needs plugins and extra programs for things like java and flash video's, annimations and games.
Firefox can be downloaded from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

Firefox is definitely worth it IHMO...but my missus doesn't like it, so it is a personal choice thing.
Some good plug-ins as well for ad control and other bits..
