I currently have a really crap ICE setup in the car at the moment and I am want to start resolving this problem.

The main thing I would like to do is get rid of the crap Jap dvd player and screen I have in the car, which I never use and that blocks all my heater controls.

I want a unit that is single DIN and has the ability to use an external hard drive preferably not an IPOD (no more CD's!!).

I went on some websites and found the above named unit. I have read quite a few reviews over the net about the Memphis and it is commonly labelled 'The unit they would choose if money were no object'. It does a lot, looks nice and at one store is supplied with a 40GB hard drive. The reviews say the unit works extreamley well with the hard drive (possibly one of the best matches?).

My issue is that of the manufacturer, which i have always thought to be sub standard:tongue: , and the fact that none of the main dealers, alpine etc.. seem to do anything remotely close to the capabilities of this unit (I refer to the hard drive compatability and functionality).

What do other people think and has anyone got any better ideas??:search:

A link to one of the selling sites and a review of the spec:

I wouldn't say the manufacturer is sub standard. A lot of the Porsche guys fit Blaupunkt - they tend to have less flashy lights than many other makes.

Well thas good. I dont want to buy a headunit that looks like R2 D2 on steriods, but instead that provides me with a good quality sound and capability..

Any other views out there??
