Howdy folks :)

been with orange for almost 8 years..... and have decided i've had enough of the huge cost of calls, bollox customer support and CHARGES FOR ITEMISED BILLING

have decided to head over to 02 instead - they seem like a nice bunch :innocent: ... 600 min of talk and few hundred text would suit me just fine - not looking to spend more then £35-£40 a month on the above.... (my average bill with orange was around £80 a month.... and when i told them i was leaving.. guess what they offered me for being loyal for 8 years.... yep £50 a month for 500 min  )

seen a few offers which have either got a free xbox360 or psp - so i'm getting greedy ... i've seen some of the websites (dial a phone etc etc etc) which offer this and wanted to know what the catch was (yes, i've read the t&c on some of these but no details about the delivery of the xbox  ) better still has anoyne purchased a new contract and have details for the deal?

i'm also loooking to port my line 1 and 2 numbers over from orange - anyone know if o2 support line 2 feature on their network? whats the deal with porting? i'm geting the porting code from orange but not sure what i do with it from there -- lot of questions i know but please be helpful and stay on topic :p

most of the offers where your offered a xbox/psp or the such like have very long delivery dates....like 8 weeks+ from when you take out the contract....even then you have to wring it outta them. Just be clear about stuff like that and you should be fine.....O2 were pretty good but i found "3" price plans to be much better VFM and there service has improved considerably from the old robotic customer service agents with call centres in India

thats one of the main reasons i've left orange - ffs paying 80 odd quid for 200 min and 60 text a month and you cant even speak to someone when things fuk up as they dont understand english

I was on Orange premier last year and they were based here and provided excellent customer support but i think if your not on their premier tarrifs then you get directed abroad

The deals on orange are the best ever at the moment. Look at there website.

Unlimited calls and text messages for 75 quid othe one I am on umlimited texts and 500 free calls.

Orange do the best deals by a long margin in my opinion.

I've always found Orange customer service pretty good. But - if your bills were your problem then you might have made a mistake leaving them.

I'm surprised they didn't mention this - but they will match anybody elses tarriff. I have had an Orange sim for a long time and I don't pay line rental because about 6 years ago Virgin created a no line rental tarriff - and I told Orange I wanted the same thing.

Unless they have stopped (but allowed those of us who use it to carry on) - then you should have been able to say : I want price plan X that O2 / Vodafone / H3G etc. provide - and they would give it to you.

tried that - the silly mare at the other end was more then happy to give me a pac code via post  lil bit dissapointed with orange to be honest - they don't value existing customers - look at some of the shitty deals they offer at upgrade time :(

Orange are rubbish!!! Their customer services are the worst I've ever had the misfortune to deal with!! AVOID at all costs [and typically very expensive].

Penguin if you are considering 02, go direct. Get one of their online tariffs.

:p you're kidding right

I've had no problems.

I asked for my PAC recently to move to Orange, but decided after 2 days of having an Orange phone and consequently no reception AT ALL, and also phoning Orange 3 times and not understanding the bloke on the other end at all I phoned Vodafone back, spoke to a nice English person (as well as the subsequent 3 calls that arose) and got myself on a new contract with them on a better deal than I had with Orange.

I now have full signal bars again - hurray!

I'm with Vodaphone, £15/month 500 texts and 500mins cross network.

I've been with them years and never had a problem. Customer service is great.

Every year at contract end I write a cancellation letter. They then phone me and offer whatever handset I want in order to keep my business. They old ones go on ebay and I get free money.

If you phone up to cancel they don't care, if you write a letter the offers come flooding in.

thats what orange do! ... i gave them my disconnection notice and waited for my pac codes to arrive.... i would of been on tmobile by now, but the handset i wanted they no longer do (the retailer also said i would get an eggbox 360 which was cool :) ) she offfered me a better pda but no xbox so i figured fuck it, give orange a call and see if they can do better... woman on the phone was british and said she'd try and get me the best deal possible for the least amount :) overall i'm very happy - its just a shame you have to kick up a stink before anyone gives a shit!

whats the deal on the xbox360? how come they get one of them.i have never had a contract phone.im on o2 pay as you go.£10 a month for 300 texts and 300 wap mins and your £10 to spend on calls.
would not mind a contract with new sony/erricson p990i pda phone and a free xbox360.something with 300 mins talk and 500 texts would do

i seem to be spending about £20 a month on mine.mainly do texting with odd calls.i prefer o2 never had any bother and always have a signal.

dont like vodaphone or virgin or orange and tmobile are crap for signal.

anyone got any ideas or websites or numbers

thanks

I've been with 02 for 12 years now but plan to leave when my contract ends in March unless they can do me a deal on an XDA Atom - I'll threaten to leave, they will probably let me :)

If they do I'll go pay as you go and buy an XDA Atom outright for less than they wanted for an upgrade.

Always the same old thing with the moby companies - shit on their existing customers and bend over backwards for new ones. No network is better than the other.

I'm personally with O2 and have been for about 4 years. My old man is Voda Business and my mom is on Three.

I get lumbered with ordering my parents upgrades as well as my own too. Personally out of those three - O2 are best. I've been with Orange and T Mobile in the past and imo they're not as good either.

You can't beat the deals on http://www.o2.co.uk/

Check out the cracking deal with the D900 - best phone on the market by far imo.

I sent my D900 back, hated the slide mechanism, now got an X820 that has pretty much identical OS but with a lower mp camera.
