We were discussing "that" at work yesterday and saying that the games were a lot more innovative in those days. I guess we're all just old.....

I have the 360 and got the wii few days ago.

I think the wii is great. Bit different than just sitting on the sofa.

Good laugh when you have the mates around for a few beers.

We got our Wii last friday Ash loves it he like the fact that its so much more interactive than say, PS1-PS2. And I like the tennis and bowling games in Wii Sports.

Can you buy one in the shops yet, or will I have to wait until Jan? Seen a few on eBay for £180 buy it now but am happy to wait until I can just buy one from a store.

When I first heard of the Wii , I thought it would be a non starter against the likes of Xbox and PS3, but how wrong I was. After seeing the adverts, and seeing one in a shop, I now want one. Even the wife is keen on getting one. I also want the 360 now. Sony need to sort their act out with the PS3

Hey, Im just pleased that some of you lot have heard of a Spectrum, I am not alone , right then , back to my pipe and the Archers

Spectrum? ha... I had a ZX81 with (wait for it) the dodgy 16k RAM pack that had to be held on with gaffer tape to stop it moving and corrupting...

Yup, a Wii is on the list next year once all this stupidity of christmas marketing and limited stock is over.

I started with the ZX81. Remember 3D Monster Maze?

In fact - I never had a spectrum. My cousin had one, but we got a VIC20 (big mistake). Then we got a BBC (Revs was cool) and he got a C64. Years later I bought a C64 second hand just to relive Way of the Exploding Fist.

My god - until I typed this I never realised what a geek I was.

Damn, how spooky.. I went straight from ZX81 to two C64's... Dont' remember monster maze, do remember Jetman or something like that...

Really tempted to buy myself a ZX81 just for old times sake..

How can you not remember monster maze???? It was THE game on the ZX81! You are clearly an imposter sir! ;)

I don't think you mean jetman - I reckon you mean jet set willy?

Jet set willy! What a cracking game that was! I was hooked on that for years. :D

Elite ... now there was an awesome game! I think it's time to load that up on the emulator when I get home. And then Fairlight. And then KnightLore (Isometric 3D - WOO!).

Rocketman, that was it, I'm no imposter... I had the dodgy WHSmith tape recoder as well... *grin* and a stick on keypad to get the real buttons rather than the membrane originals..

We went to a party last night, and they had a Wii, and an Xbox 360 (and a PS2, and a PSP and.....).

Although I could see that the Wii looked like a laugh, I was disappointed with the graphics - and also with the actual games that we saw. Some of them were little more than the old track and field type games, but with you shaking your hands about rather than bashing buttons. My g/f was sold on it and wants one immediately - but I won't be buying it. I couldn't help thinking that once the novelty of the control system has worn off, the games themselves were really pretty basic.

The Xbox looked better to me - although it still doesn't convince me I should rush out and buy one.

that what im worried about. a few hours of play then, hardly ever used. I like sitting on my arse pushing buttons :)

Exactly - it looked far too energetic to me. If I want to exercise I'll go and play REAL tennis - the whole point of playing it on a console is that I'm a lazy git!

I can beat that... Commodore Pet in 1978. Made from 16 guage steel with a built in tape drive. Wow!

I've still got a ZX80 somewhere used as a doorstop ;)
