what is it worth?

Thats dependent on whether you are going to a Specialist insurance Co and agree a figure as Insurance Companies give you current market value,

Should you write it off they will find the average price in the market place and pay you out that, Just the same as it applies to new cars as well,

You hear stories of people being offered £2k , never seen that myself as you get current Market value, which it states in your policy

I'd do a search in the market place for a value and check your spec and if you want to insure it to try and recoup some on what you have spent on it should anything happen i'd go to a specialist... but you'll pay the premium. if you go specialist agreed value you pretty much suggest your own price within reason.. but you are paying the premium .

that wasn't the question mate ;)

question is how much would you value a UK spec Aerotop at? :)

its not actually a UK spec though is it? So it would be valued the same as any other gz aerotop apart from the fact that it has now had a 6spd conversion which should bump the price for the rarity factor. I'd say around £11>£12k

With your car Brad there is no precedence for value, never acutally seen one up for sale before.

I would say around the £12k mark as a guide, it would cost a fair amount more to do again (Facelift NA and 6spd UK are not too common). Its not as though you could ever replace it from the 2nd hand market as I doubt there is another one in existance.

Who are you insuring with?

My auto TT aerotop has a guaranteed value with sky of £14k, which is probably more than i could sell it for, but way less than the cost of doing another one the same from scratch. I'm thinking of upping it this year, or i'll end up well out of pocket if some lowlife writes it off

Agreed value will never meet your actual spend on the car. I mean mines cost me £33k, Gamers (for example) over £60k, they're both pretty much new cars but no way will we ever see the investment returned.

Scooby's car is easier though as it doesn't really have any aftermarket mods done (which is where the massive costs come from).
