hhhm,.

ive got an NA manual,.

when driving,. say im in 3rd or 4th,. if i put my foot hard down it starts picking up and accelerating normaly,. but then gets to about 4-5000 rpm then starts going, well like an automatic on kick down., ynow like the revs climb a bit faster than the car,. i thought my car was loosing traction. ? its the same kind of effect..,

its not major when it happens but ive started noticing this., and ive only just noticed it., its almost like a small turbo coming in ?

whats going on please ?

Sounds like clutch slip.

An easy test for a knackered clutch : Put the handbrake on (stationary of course!), put it in first, gently let the clutch out with the handrake still on.

Car quickly stalls - clutch OK.

Car happily revs - clutch knackered.

Thats right, might be easier to try in fourth gear though mate..

clutch up the swanny, or possible fluid has got in there.

they tend to slip in the higher gears rather than the low ones

thats what i was thinking,i did the clutch test bit today with the car parked with handbrake on etc putting the car into 1st or 2nd and it was stalling np,.

but the effect in 3rd or 4th is like a slipping clutch ?
