FCON V (Silver): Keep or Bin?

Hi everyone,

My 95 JDM TT (6sp) came with a HKS FCON V (the silver one that bugger all companies can map).

Since getting the car, I have decatted and fitted a walbro fuel pump to go BPU (car already came with boost controller, exhaust and colder plugs).

The car still has the stock 440cc injectors as far as I can tell (see pic in this thread).

So, given the fact that:

:: Im only on stock injectors

:: Running what I believe to be stock turbos @ no more than 1.2 bar

:: Running Tesco 99 Ron fuel (not sure how different that is to Japans fuel)

...am I really benefitting from having it installed since it was no doubt mapped in Japan with a different spec (plus its costing me more on my insurance lol).

I'd love to hear your views on this, as if its not really benefitting me (apart from preventing fuel cut @ 1+ bar) I may as well bin it and hopefully get some money knocked off my insurance.

Im happy with the car as it is performance wise, and hardly 'give it death' whilst Im driving.

Cheers

Simon

Hi Simon,

I had the same mate when I got my J-spec TT in July. It wasn't installed though so I just kept it off the way it should be.

You're right about the mapping. It'll cost a small fortune to do as nobody over here does it (UK) I don't think.

Flog it on fleabay or in for sale section mate.
