So is it a better idea to install a walbro first before I change the exhaust and full decat? Will it run fine stock with a walbro or will it run rich?

thanks guys

Yes, you should install the walbro first, it will run fine in stock form.

The pump could flow 100x the stock capacity and it wouldn't overfuel. The fuel pressure is controlled by the fuel pressure regulator, not the pump.

So how do you figure that one out then?

My point is, just to elaborate that it would be a good idea to put a fresh high flow walbro pump in to replace the tired old stock fuel pump, which may not be as effective as when it left the factory, which in turn runs the risk that you may run lean...

As for the issue of whether it runs rich or not with a walbro in, I'd say it does (but thats just a guess... :) )

Is that OK oh uber- anal pedantic ones?:D

Mines been fine for months now on the walbro. I'm planning on BPU after it's MOT in April so thought doing this and getting a boost gauge too beforehand.:)

Oh and the old pump strainer come out brown along with the old fuel filter. It's good to change that too.
