I've just installed my lovely new Kenwood DDX-6029 and thought that there was no need to connect this wire but I soon found out that the screen wont display images unless this is connected with the handbrake on.

Do I really have to connect this wire on the stereo to the handbrake? Or just give it a 12v feed.

How's everybody else done it?

I've never looked at the handbrake switch on the Supra, does it not connect the wire to earth when the handbrake is on.

But you're right, you should be able to either connect your DVD wire to 12v or earth depending on the above.

yep - my JVC headunit needs the hand brake feed, but i canot see a reason not to just give it a 12v feed... i'd probably find it distracting to be honest..

Looks like it does need to be connected to earth like I pointed out, not 12v.

Have a look at the following thread , don't miss the last post!

needs the earth mate not a feed, just crimp it onto the wire from the head unit loom

Thanks guys:thumbs: ,I'm really annoyed since I didn't notice this until the dash was all back together and I really hate taking that main dash panel off with the clock.
