bungy
Depends how much of the exhaust you are changing. If you are going full decat or your old system is shot then it may take longer.

Yeh, well its just cat back so the two pipes from the cats back. I have an aftermarket exhaust on there already so im hoping the bolts wont be too bad? What do you think? At least its not a stock 10yr old exhaust.

I need axel stands do i to do it myself? Will that be high enough to work on?
psymon
Was for me. If you a right Fat Bar steward maybe not lol :d The exhaust system is easy to work on cause it has flanges. Even if you shear bolts, its no stress as long as you have new ones. Took me, just over 1/2 half hour to fit my Nur Spec....
Rayman
Will look into it, did you have the car up on four points?
psymon
No Just the rear... A decat back zorst starts bout half way down the underside of the car. Sorta in the middle of the door. Jack up rear , support and slide on in there.

DamanC
Conventional places like kwikfit/ATS tend not to touch aftermarket stuff
Steviekid
When I got my nur spec about a year ago the weather was appaling so I took it to ATS. Charged me £20 which I though was extortionate considering they basically let me fit it using their equipment!!
bungy
Just had a Nur spec fitted and you might as well have the second cat taken out as you only need the front for the mot.
Steviekid
you might as well have the second cat taken out as you only need the front for the mot. If you're just taking one out you're far better off removing the front as it's far more restrictive. Should still pass with just the rear in. garetheves
Ive got a set of axle stands you can borrow if you do want to give it a go.
Rayman
Ive got a set of axle stands you can borrow if you do want to give it a go. Cheers for the offer Gaz, am still wondering myself, gonna have a ride round in the morning see if any garages will do it for up to 30quid, if not will let you know. Just had a Nur spec fitted and you might as well have the second cat taken out as you only need the front for the mot. If you're just taking one out you're far better off removing the front as it's far more restrictive. Should still pass with just the rear in. If you remove just one cat do you have to do anything else to stop the car boosting too high or will it not change?
dangerous brain
You could always take your £30 to a motor factor and with that cash buy a sturdy set of ramps (as long as you car isn't lowered to the floor). Then all you have to do is reverse it up onto the ramps instead of faffing around with jacks and axle stands etc.
Rayman
Yeh i looked at these on ebay, they are a lot easier, i could o my own oil changes easy too! Are they pretty safe?
Feakins
I would of thought ramps would be too steep to get the front of the Sup up? I couldn't remove the bolts from my standard back box to fit my Nur Spec! I have now bought some nuts than can get off sheered bolts so should have it on soon! Rayman
could be the front might ground out when you reverse up the ramp, not sure how steep they are?

Steviekid
could be the front might ground out when you reverse up the ramp, not sure how steep they are? My old escort coudn't get up ramps without the bumper scraping never mind the supra! Also, all the ones I've used are too narrow for the wheels on a TT although you might be able to get wider ones. dangerous brain
Yeah you have to look for ramps that aren't as steep. They are a little more expensive but worth it. If you are worried about the front grounding out purchase a piece of 4x2 and put a bit under both the front wheels that will lift the front end off the ground enough to clear it. Ramps are far safer to work under than axle stands and usually afford you a bit more height. I used them on my TT supra on billies and eibachs with the 4x2 with no grounding and with nothing on my stock NA on Gibson and Boynes trade stand at JAE. To be fair my drive was sloping a little so i put the nose downhill which may have given me a little more clearance. There is no harm in asking at the motor factor if you can test them prior to purchase.
