Firstly have a 96 6 N/A facelift model, it has a persistent "clunk" from the front end (sounds like drivers side), going over bumps and when accelerating/braking etc. Left it in to a garage who replaced a wishbone (dont ask the price

however clunk is still there in saying that the wishbone has tightened up the front end. Anyone had a similar problem??

Maybe its because its a N/A but even still with a 3L engine I would have thought it woulda been quicker, I have a standard exhaust and standard everything else what is the biggest restriction to performance? airbox, cat, exhaust etc?? Dont want to heard 3 mile away but would want a bit more poke engine feels strangled.

Decent exhaust and filter (make sure you have a cold air feed and heatsheild ), i've just fitted a new induction pipe, completley changed my car

I can pm you pics of my induction mods if required

Dumping the standard exhaust would be the first thing, Have you seen how many silencers that thing has!!!

Are you Auto or Man ? remember the NA has the magic 5500rpm when it goes on cam, try a ECU reset in case it has been plodding around some city in Japan (if its a fresh import)

Mine has been elec times 3 consecutive runs 6 secs dead

In the real world on the road 6 or even 6.5 secs is quick, You don't get a huge sensation of speed in the Supe just watch the speedo though

The clunk could be drop links ( first thing to check ) poss a/r bar bushes or even a shocker if your unlucky, also check front subframe bolts, a pop sound is usually o/s engine mount,

Mine is a little clunky on some road surfaces

Excellent! thank you, yes would be interested in pics. I live in northern Ireland does anyone know of a specialist? I assume the ecu re-set would be fairly easy to get organised?

Its a 6 speed manual (tight as a gerbils chuff too).

Ecu Reset, Just Disconnet Battery For 1/2 Hr

Would this affect my TOAD alarm/immobiliser??

Was serviced last month, had a 150bhp GTTDI before Supra maybe just used to the torque

The knocking noises from the front are almost certainly the front subframe mounts. They need torque checking occasionally. I beliive that dude did a thing saying what needed doing and how way back in the year dot. Maybe one of the earchmeisters can find that thread. As far as how fast an N/A feels, well the feel of speed is very relative. I didn't ever think my BPU+++ TT was fast til I sold it and bought other supposed fast cars. An N/A is in its own rights a quick car but in relation to other production cars even by ford or vauxhall standard can be found to be lacking. I found myself upgrading to a sorted TT the day my mates volvo estate with 3 passengers handed me my N/A supe ass on a platter.

Thats modern technology though,

My mate got seen off in his Skyline (to begin with) by a Seat Leon and New Golf GTI deisel,

By modern standards even a std TT is no longer quick, but saying that i'd preder to be driving a Supra or Skyline than a Seat Leon or Golf Deisel ...
