Guest chris.mcd22
Hey Guys and Girls. How are you all today? Just recently joined up and just need as much info as possible good and bad about supra TT imports or non imports. For example. What is fuel consumption like? What are servicing costs like? Handling in wet/ dry What is the best type of supra to go for? Automatic or manual ? I have about 7-8K to spend. I am based in the UK Just any information about them before I decide to buy would be of great help. Thanks Chris

Rayman
What is fuel consumption like? About 22mpg! What are servicing costs like? about 600 for full service, belts all fluids etc. Costs less for the minor services! Handling in wet/ dry Its not bad, although i prefer the supe when its in a straight line! What is the best type of supra to go for? TT jap or Uk, auto or manual! Automatic or manual ? Try testing both, they are both great! 7-8K gets you a very good j-spec TT auto! Possibly a J-spec 6-spd or auto UK TT! Further info on the above in detail can be found in many of threads on the forum, each one has been extensively discussed, see search button! Good Luck in your search! RedM
Hello, What is fuel consumption like? 18-21 in normal use, 27-ish on a M-way, much less if you rag it. What are servicing costs like? Depends on who does the work. Avoid Toyota. It's the faults that cost money. Handling in wet/ dry. Amazing in the dry, pretty good in the wet but treat it with respect or it WILL bite you. Auto or manual? Try both. Auto for ease of use. Manual allegedly offers more involvement. I read that as spending time changing gears. CardiffSupra
For example. What is fuel consumption like? Nasty. What are servicing costs like? Nasty. Handling in wet/ dry ,Respect it in the wet, The Supra is not very forgiving in the wet. Dry Great handling, Just be sensible. What is the best type of supra to go for? Depends what you want. TT 6Speed would be the best choice, But for 8k i very much dout you will find one, For 8k id say you could get a very good Auto TT. Automatic or manual ? I wanted a manual, Ended up with an Auto and love ever min, Both have there up's and Down's. Good luck boyo.

So , auto TT import or UK seems to be the most popular. What about aurotop(sp) tt auto's ? They are more expensive to insure yeh?
D8MOA
erm i think so. you may get leaks in rainy conditions with a aero, i honestly believe if your looking for a standerdish car for 8k you should get a uk

Faye
erm i think so. you may get leaks in rainy conditions with a aero, i honestly believe if your looking for a standerdish car for 8k you should get a uk erm, no they aren't more expensive to insure, at least my NA isn't; and a well maintained roof (and one fitted when the car is on reasonably flat ground) shouldn't leak. R Black
Welcome Manuals cost somewhat more as do Aero's & UK spec cars, as for insurance if your over 25, probably not too much of an issue, otherwise UK tt's can be a lot cheaper than jspec, everything else is subjective try a few out to see what you like, honestly they're all good. Oh and there is also the N/A models which are great cars & cheaper to buy, you won't save much on insurance with one, but servicing should be cheaper, there is also less to go wrong, but hey they're Toyota's so reliable motors anyway;) Good Luck
Guest chris.mcd22
Well to be honest I am only 21 since last Wednesday. I had never considered a supra but I was looking at insurance quotes yesterday and was getting very very cheap quotes. Cheaper than my BMW318is (Runs and hides). Mate just got a 286bhp Gt-4, this has out me in the mood for something faster and twin turbo
