steb9780
Got a leather gear gaitor for the car. Just wondering how it fits. The gaitor has holes in it to put onto the fastener bits. But when I had a quick look at the underside where the o/e gaitor is fitted, it looks like there is a ring over the little mount bits, that fit through the gaitor holes. Then it looks like they have been melted together if you get what I mean. The ring has been melted to the little plastic fasteners.
Mas
yes they are melted in together and you have to break the melted bits to open them and then use glue to stick the back in or if you have some spare plastic then just melt some in and do the same. I did as above and glued them together after all but its not a very pleasant job to do though

Mas
I wouldnt think there is another way as the gaitor comes with the surounding plastic unit from toyota so its been done before by the manufactorers, what worse could happen anyway its a bit of plastic and you can always glue it back good luck
