Spare Alarm FOB not aligned with Car Alarm

Guys (and Girls),

I have a spare fob for my UK car, it's the standard Toyota Alarm and it is not aligned with the car's alarm... ie I press the button and nothing happens.

Is there a procedure to align it with the Alarm?

Laura's old Coupe had some way to do it by opening/closing the doors and playing with the ignition.

It does still work as the little light light's up.

Paul.

If it's the rectangular (scorpion/ toyota 5000 tds) remote fob with the 2 square buttons arranged left and right to each other ( not the oval 'ish type with the arrow indented 2 buttons arranged top to bottom) then this thread maybe of help.
