View Full Version : Cambridgeshire + Surround Mini Meet
Thought i would get this in now in the hope for a better turnout than the last two months meets. Who's up for a mini meet on Thursday 5th June 2003.
How about the OLD FERRY BOAT INN, HOLYWELL, HUNTINGDON - PE17 3TG again. If anyone has a better suggestion then name it.

Is that the pub we went to last week Phil? Could well be up for a meet then, should have the new lump in so I won;'t have to top up with oil on the way there :D

Yes that is the pub. How many pints (oil) to the mile are you doing.
Currently it's going from over full on the dipstick to empty in 70 miles - ie every day! A litre every 30 miles or so.
I'm 99% sure I'll be there :)

Is this down to your mods or a problem of some kind. Sounds bad to me :eek: but ive heard about your car :innocent: so is probably perfectly normal :conf:
Last year I was convinced it was the stem oil seals or the turbo oil seals. Having put a hybrid turbo and a fully rebuilt head on, the consumption got worse rather than better! Only thing left to do is the rings so Chris is putting together a new bottom end for me, forged pistons etc, ready for some serious boostage.

i'm not sure if i'll be coming from peterborough or huntingdon when it comes to convoy'ing the A1, although i'm taking it easy now to get my rears through MOT in 3 months :(
although when you get out on the open road with those other Supras.............

we may also be better coming off slightly later on the A14 rather than going through huntingdon and those....slippery...roundabouts.

Yep i am, i have cleaned it up now to my liking and its going to Chris Wilson's on Monday for a few mods here and there. Just a couple of other things i want to do to it when it gets back and it will be complete as far as im concerned.

i want a GT4 - I REALLY REALLY WANT ONE,
so i may indeed sell my Supra.
ChrisR's was keeping up with me all up the A1M and totally
leaving me around bends,
that could be my wimpy-round-bends-driving style (through my fear of RW spin + crash) but the car looked REALLY REALLY nice.
time for some GT4 research
apart from that, was great to see you guys , and what i want to know is how the hell the Rx7 managed to get on the A1 before us, and it left the pub after us?!?!?!

V8's are all well and good but I reckon we made more noise than the lot of them :) Nice meet and a FABULOUS steak, and that barmaids alright as well. Sort of a miniature Angelina Jolie . . .

ChrisR was off and away round those WRC type lanes in his GT4 :-)
trying my best to catch him but i kept getting a loada wadding in my radiator causing me to slow down :-)
although i think he's convinced me to but a Gt4 -see seperate thead :-)))))))

Not that far away from ya mate, Bobbeh had a bright idea of *following* you lot down to the A1 and going south... was super until we reached the A1 and you can only go North, so turned back there... dunno how on earth you got behind us thou!
Saw ya in the mirror coming up, said to Bob "core this things shifting it" so I went into pursuit mode only to relaise it was you eheh
