Rico2006
Howdy. Has anyone here fitted the AEM Tru-Boost controller / Gauge? I just found it and think it looks really nice, and easier to hide than the Blitz boxes as I can just stick it in the clock cutout. Just thought i'd see if anyone has experianced any problems with them first. Thanks

Rico2006
trying to install this - says it must be installed onto the manifold pressure line - is that just the normal vac line? ta
supra matt
no mate it needs to go onto the front accuator . there is two pipes coming off it you need to block the top one off and put it between the second one .
Rico2006
Sorry, I didnt make that clear. I meant where do I tap the gauge into? Im assuming its teh same as any other boost gauge, but the doc refers to manifold pressure. Thanks
Jezz
The feed for the boost gauge needs to come off the map sensor vac pipe located just on the inlet plenum. Just wack a t-piece in.
Flip
Sorry to ressurrect this one, but I have just taken delivery of my tru-boost too, and want to pop it in tomorrow - does anyone have any piccies of what pipes the vacuum gauge and actuator thingy have to be attached too? Either that or some really good directions for which bit I need to look at and pull the pipes off! I have a facelift, can I pop a T piece on the back of the stock guage and use that for the feed for the tru-boost vacuum pipe? Just a thought. Flip
Took about 10 days to get here or so, not bad really, £200 is pretty good for a UK sourced one. Anyway, don't thread hijack - I wanna know how to fit one!!!

Flip
I managed to avoid the tax - I was lucky this time... I'm near Wokingham, which is inbetween Bracknell and Reading - - not going to come do it for me are you?!?

Flip
Many thanks Skarsnik, so that's where I put the feed for the gauge. How about the boost controller block thingy, I think it has to go between the turbo and the wastegate?
Flip
Gauge is all wired in and boost connected, hitting 1.09 bar max, so that's not too bad, but I've not connected the boost solenoid yet. Can anyone tell me where this should be plumbed in so I can play?! I know some of you have the tru-boost gauges/controllers...
Stonkin
Not been having much help with this have you mate. Well i'm afraid i cant offer any, but i am keen to hear what you think of the unit once its all up and running. And some pics of it fitted day/night would be appreciated
Flip
No, no-one seems to want to help the helpless! I'll try and get some piccies once its all up and running - its pretty funky though, you should buy one! My only possible concern is it doesn't have a dimmer for night-time, other than that it seems tip top!
Flip
OK, I think I'm getting it now. The pipe in the actuator photo goes to the turbo I think, so that is where I want the solenoid to go, inbetween the turbo and there yeah? Then I need to remove the end hose from the vsv (whatever that is) as in picture remove1. The other end goes into the boost hardpipes so I have to cap off that end, as in picture cap1. Is that right?
