Does anyone no how much it cost to have the matrix changed.
Also how hard is it to change cause im thinkin of doin it myself.

An alternative course of action is to wear double socks and/or keep it as a summer car.

If you do bite the bullet and fix it, do a thorough coolant flush, because the fecked matrix is usually a sign of neglected coolant changes.
One thing you should NOT do is try these 'miracle in a bottle' fixes that plug the radiator gaps. Big mistake.

This car is well neglected i bought it a week ago with aparently 103000kph on the clock i dont think so a recon its dont over double that an more the water is brown an red an the engine bay is black

is it leaking or just blocked ?

It was just blocked but i thought fix or bust so the hose wouldnt move the block this time so i put an airline in the pipe i no it was dodgy but it worked the blockage moved now i got well hot motor

Speak to Martin at MKivStore on here. I used his advise and used some acid stuff from B&Q. It worked a treat but that stuff is lethal, it even burnt through the gloves i was using.
Martin will do this for you for a small fee.

Might be worth a go

did this myself at the weekend. stripped the whole dash and got the little sucker out. replaced it and i now have heat!! took around 8 hours...

I have to strip out a matrix from a breaker tomorrow. Would hate to have to put it all back together again!! Takes 2 hours just to get the blighter out, and thats not being very gentle! :d
