This isnt the same as an NA breaking away, at least they are progressive. guess it depends whether yours will be auto or manual, and thus if it has an LSD or not - the LSD creates the severe kick i have seen - it causes both wheels to slip sideways, not just maybe one

Now, I'm not doubting Rob here but could this be the cause of my little slips sideways when accelerating from junctions? Is it a feature of all LSDs or just the Torsen model?

Finally, anything I can do to overcome this?

Not at all, all RWD cars will break traction and go sideways if they have an even slightly interesting power to weight ratio. The number of peoples sons (and daughters) I know who have written off or damaged a RWD car having come froma FWD car is frightening. Instead of having an automatic only licence, the authorities would be better off changing this to a FWD only licence, IMO. Now the frosts are here just wait for the stories to appear. My body shop man was rubbing his hands in the pub last night, the boy racers round here are seemingly into RWD BMW's at the moment ;)

For sarcasm watch some re-runs of Rumpole of the Bailey, I am but a wet nosed amateur ! :)
