Wheel recommendations?

I am considering changing my wheels (from stock) - although I will probably wait until a) I know how much my service cost and b) when I need new tyres. But I'd like some recommendations now.

I don't particularly want to increase size, so I'm happy with 16".

I know that wheels with millions of spokes are popular these days - but I don't like them. Something with just 4 or 5 spokes is best - and they need to be silver.

Any recommendations? And if you have pics, that's even better.

Ideas of where to get them would be handy too......

Dave have a look through these weblinks. I'd personally recommend going for a set of 17's, as this will give you the option of upgrading to the larger brake setup in future (provided the wheels you fit have sufficient clearance).

If I can help with any prices just let me know.

Cheers, I'll take a look.

It's very unlikely I'll go 17s though. That's also a common thing on 964s (and would also allow bigger brakes) but I've been happy with the 16s for 5 years. I admit I'm the only owner I know who still has 16s though..... But I've always thought they look perfectly good (and think the same about the Supra wheels apart from the styling) so the only thing 17s seem to get me is more expensive tyres!

Hmm - any idea how I find out which?

If it's a problem, the original wheels will stay and I'll just get them refurbed. I don't mind spending money on the car when it's something I want - but I don't want to move to 17s just for style reasons when I have absolutely no desire for bigger wheels.

Get a light wheel, weight makes a huge difference to ride and handling, a massive one. Get a wheel with the correct size pilot hole in the middle, for a snug fit on the hub spigot. Get a wheel with a 50 mm offset. To meet all these criteria may limit your choice substantially, even to the point of you needing a custom wheel. For one offs I like BBS and Image wheels. BBS are a nightmare to deal with if you don't have an account. We have one, but it's just with their racing division, and they won't even discuss road car wheels. Image are VERY helpful, and many of their billet centres offer the requiired clearance, and are lightweight and strong. 90% plus of aftermarket rims are, IMO, utter junk. 99% of their vendors haven't a clue what they are talking about either, again, IMO.

Stick to your guns, the MKIV is a dream to drive on "normal" roads on 16 inch tyres.
