DaveK
Hi, I've just been to view an N/A '97 Supra. In general, it looked and drove fine - however, there was one issue. The clutch was pretty heavy - enough so that when I first got into the car and put my foot on it, I thought I'd mistakenly put my foot on the brake. It also made a clear creaking sound as I pushed it in. Years ago I had a TT Supra and I don't remember the clutch being heavy on that. My 911 previously had a heavy clutch and that meant it was pretty old. I had it replaced in May of this year and now it is sooooo light. So - does this simply mean the car needs a new clutch - or could it be a sign of something else? And why the creaking (wasn't from the pedals I don't think - sounded like it came from under the car). Assuming it means it needs a new clutch - what would the cost of having a clutch fitted be (at a reputable indpendent, not a Toyota garage). I liked the car - but don't want to buy a problem. If it just needs a new clutch, then I would still proceed - but only if the price reflected the fact that it needs one. Dave
