Why would you want to do it in the rain though! I would rather do it when its at least dry

oh and its not a silly question! only a question you dont know the answer to!! :)

Simply because its dark when I get home and next weekend Im in London, the weekend after Im possibly in Brighton so I was going to tackle the clay bar this weekend..rain or not possibly.

Probably better to wait for decent weather though so I can seal/wax straight after. See it was silly afterall:)

You should really use a lube with a clay bar... the idea of the liquid is stop the bar from gripping..

If you don't want to get a lub, just use a bit of car shampoo in a spray bottle with water.

Ive got the Quik Clay with the spray....hence wondering if it did rain once Id started, so what. I may capitalise on having done 22 years of service at work and not givin a f**k by taking a sunny day off without notice:d
