Which Single Turbo

OK, so im having problems with my T66 already, that will teach me to buy 2nd hand turbo's Anyways, so im about to buy a brand new one and can't quite make my mind up. T67, GT71Q or GT72Q.

All are at very good prices so im not bothered with that. But it is going on an auto with HS.

Any thought's about each one??

Stock auto? Or you throwing a built box in?

Well I guess you know you're pushing your luck with any of those turbo's on a stock auto The T67 delievers awesome power and larger ones are going to be monsterous if mapped porperly. I guess if you manage to limit the boost then the box might last a little while... (I said *if* )

The 61 is the best street turbo for the auto (if you don't want to break it).

James I hear PHR turbos are very good, and also sound performance, I would also consider one of the precision turbos Paul E is currently selling, providong you have a kit to build around it

As far as size is concerned, I agree with Alex 61 is best for street use, I think anythink over a 71 is getting on for drag power, depends what you want it for

PHR Stage 1

I am very please with my PHR the kit its very good quality and has made not bad power first result was 448RWHP @ 1.28 bar. I'm looking to increase that 500RWHP with the next Dyno/mapping session as the car has shown its ok at that power.

The fitting of it was good apart from the FMIC pipe which was no where near (but I’m changing that for something total different ) and the oil feed return.

But i am happy with the kit as the car is my daily drive and i find it very drivable, for example holding the car in 2nd at 4000rpm + is amazing on some of the back lanes near my house! I don’t find it that laggy on a Auto as it starts making positive boost really low down and by 3800-4000 its hitting max boost (for now).

It was fine while it lasted but the lip for the V-Band had a small hole in. This got welded up, but a small crack inside the exhaust flange has grown a little as well as oil seeping out the back

That's why i got the loan for the box The thing is everyone has the 67, so im thinking about something a little different.

Current spec and pictures in my sig The kit will pretty much run nearly everything (coupled with the new box).

Im also being offered a VERY good deal on them brand new.

See with the 38 stall and the 66 the car was running lovely, so the 67 is an obvious move, but will i suffer ALOT more with lag with the other 2?? I know the 71 will be about 150-200rpm more which i think i can live with. I've also been told the 72 is alright, but alot of the US guys use a shot of NOS with them.

If that's an XSPower T66 it's nothing like a T67, it's quite a bit smaller.

WELL, with the 66 on and stall it was lovely. Was just what i was hoping for with the car. But now im borrowing Sam's T70 and have my AEM about to go on so all's to change once again.

what about the xs power gt45 that steve whittaker is running had along chat with him he pulled it apart and said the build quality is better than his greddy one he had and he was running good 10s last week at the pod

Well i got Sam to get a quote for me the other day and gotta say i was on the brink of being the man from Delmonte (he say YES ) But the lag with the auto will just be too much i think.

Blitz K5-660R, wont be cheap but speak to Greg about my turbo, he's somewhat impressed. Should hopefully get some numbers out soon once Dan has finished mapping, but Greg was saying that full boost was by 3300 - JUST what I wanted to hear Whether it's 5, 6 or 700 bhp, I'm well chuffed on the spool time.

If you thought your T66 was good, try a T67DBB...

That's what my plan is/was Alex, but i was wondering if i would benifit any better with the 71. CJ did say he would rather have stuck with the 67. Think im nearly decided on......
