I've got to the stage where i'm thinking of taking off my headlight covers, but they are stuck on with some sort of black high strength glue.... Any ideas what i could use to clean up the headlights once i prize the covers off ? As i don't want to take them off if i can't get the glue stuff off.. They'll look terrible !

Unless of course anyone wants covers and we can swop headlights !

Thanks..

Craig.

Craig I used GS27 on mine, comes up as good as new. Didn't take them apart just did the outsides.

You can get GS27 from Halfords and most car places.

Would it work on the getting the glue off though ? I need to get the headlight covers off the headlight first....

Thanks..

The black glue is a sealant so do you really want to remove it? There is a procedure for cleaning headlights in the Technical section under resources - not sure if this link will work but here goes.....

link... (javascript:makePopUpWin('lights/index.html',400,800,'How To - Refurbish the headlamps',2))

I think i've confused you all, i don't mean the sealant holding the headlight together, I mean i've actually got headlight covers/eybrows on the car in silver.. And i don't want them anymore..

Ah got you now, er don't know white spirit??

The GS27 is a scratch remover, might remove it though, I had oil caked on the body work, that was like glue it had been there so long, got that off with WD40.
