I get about 50-60C normal driving about 70C when stuck in traffic and the other day when it was warm, racing a couple of puddings on bikes who'es arses fell out at about 140 leptons i peaked at just over 90C which is the hottest i've seen it.

Normally I see 110C and up to 125C on a serious track day. I'm using the infamous Valvoline and change it every 5000. Absolutely no problems.

70 C??? That's lower than the water temp, where are you probing it? It's not even hot enough to boil off water vapour, doesn't sound right to me at all....

Ah, Chris, so you are still looking in this board. Haven't seen you here for a little while.

Still pop in once every 2 days sometimes more, just so busy at the moment, both work and work at home wise.

My car with a cooler cruises at around 75-80. In Summer traffic it has hit 118.

How hot is too hot for oil? About 140 or so?

150 is pretty damned hot, even for a decent synthetic, 180 is usually well past curtains time.
