Ian W
I'm going to be getting my suspension replaced next week, however the car is a daily driver so cant' be without it longer than the day i have allotted. I'm just curious as to what could go wrong during this procedure that might cause a problem. am sure someone mentioned drop-links being a pain in the ass? any info much appreciated Ian
Getrag
your old drop links will be welded on and need sawing off, mine did. And since they are cheap from MrT, could be worth getting them done at the same time. Your top mounts could also be worn and need replaced, not sure on the cost of these. Burna
Only the drop links caused a bit of trouble when mine was done, I had new ones to put on anyway so it was quicker to grind them off. You replacing the top mounts aswell?
Ian W
well, as i've got pennies to my name the top mounts may well have to wait any idea on the cost of the drop links?
miko_supra
yeah im hoping to change to suspension soon, so cost of top mounts would be helpful
Getrag
Drop links were something like £60 from MrT in Oxford. Might as well do them, could make a little improvement if they are worn.

Just remembered a chat on MSN and thought you bought some coilovers? I'll dig out my invoice for the drop links when I get home. I needed mine in a hurry so went to Toyota but if you can wait Nic is the cheapest on these
Getrag
Lol, yeah. Cant find much on top mounts. You could make your own by cutting the bottom off of an IRN BRU can?

Burna
You got a photo of them? I'm confused as what's the difference between coilovers and an assembled shock, spring, and top mount?
colsoop
Last time i looked top mounts were £

miko_supra
i dont really get the electronic adjustment feature?
Ian W
i dont really get the electronic adjustment feature? what's there to get? you have a control box in the cabin that lets you adjust the damping electronically (three personalised settings i believe). saves you getting out, lifting the bonnet and doing it manually.
