broken front crankshaft pulley.

hi

 

driving along at my usual 70 or so! i hear a loud thud and battery light came on immediatley pull over to find what the problem was?

low and behold the rubber in the front pulley slit and off it came !:(

 

luckly there seems to be no other damage.

 

is this a common problem?:search:

 

what is the best part to replace with?

 

and where can i get em?

 

the only one i can find is on envys web site for £850 quid!!!!:blink:

 

the car is a 95 N/A!

any help would be greatfully appreciated

There was a thread recently - It's a wear and tear item that you need to keep an eye on if it' getting on a bit - You are lucky that it hasn't damaged anything else!

 

Go for stock replacement. You must be looking at the wrong thing - Stock crank pulley is just over £200 I think

yea i was a bit lucky eh!!!

its about time my luck changed though.

poss got a second hand one already will have to get a new aux belt and a rad cap too!:rolleyes:

then get it running again and check no further damage has been done!!:blink:
