Hey, new member here, my name's Chris, thought i'd say a quick Hi! :)

I will be looking for a Supra, a UK one, manual if possible, as this is the only one I can get insured on for some reason. The insurance is 105 per month, this is cheaper than what I have paid on a 1.2 Corsa, hence the reason for wanting one!

Now, I know they are rare, but just how rare are they?!

I will be looking to get this when I have 2 years no claims and 2 years driving experience exactly, have any of you had one at 19? Is it a case of getting to big for you boots so to speak?

The cost of the car and insurance does not bother me, but what are the general running costs like?

Is anyone going to Santa Pod Sunday?

Anyway, cheers for any advice!!!

Chris :D

Hello, Chris, im Chris as well, finding a Uk supe wont be too bad but finding a manual one could be very tricky as they are v rare, auto's are fine tho, you shud try test drive them both before choosing! auto is very smooth and just as quick, its no grandad box!
Most Uk supes will be on fairly high mileag but as long as they are looked after and have service history they will be fine in there reliability. make sure you hpi before purchase as some may have been written off in early life, check the FAQ on what to look for when buying a supe, good luck stick around the forums, i was on these forums a year without even owning a supe, but the dream came true and ive only just got mine!

I think this depends on the attitude of the driver if your a pretty level headed 19yr old then i dont see why not. You gotta treat them with a bit of respect and not drive like the average 19yr old in a saxo if you know what i mean.

Welcome mate, there not the cheapest of cars to run, be warned, if things go wrong which is quite rare it does hit the pocket hard :( and also fuel expect a full tank to cost you 55 and be gone in no time
