Poncho
just wondered if there is a great deal of difference between the cat back, and just the back box. obviously there is the pipe work you get (and loose) with the cat back, but is it really an overall gain for the extra cash? will there be a sound difference between the two? Bobbeh
You'll see more power gains with the full system especially if you're de-catted.
miko_supra
ALLOT OF SOUND DIFFERENCE! with the back box you've still got the two standard silencers.
Poncho
ok, so in short, the nur spec - r cat back is the better chioce. it has better power gains and sounds nicer too. ok cheers:)
MarkTheBoy
Would the silencers make much difference to the boost you can generate? I've got Whifbitz double decats on mine and assumed that I would need just the back box to complete the "full system" effect (ie - 1st decat, 2nd decat then backbox) but judging from this thread will I need a full system to marry up with the arse end of the 2nd decat? Feakins
I'm thinking of double decat, leave 2 silencers in and get the backbox. I guess this will be quite restrictive though and to get the full benefit of decat you would need a CAT back nur spec.
Nic
As said the wider diameter, single pipe cat back system should give increased performance and significant increase in noise level compared to the stock exhaust with back box. Pics here of stock exhaust. http://mkiv.com/techarticles/exhaust/stock_exhaust/index.html Pics here of the Nur Spec cat back exhaust. http://mkiv.com/techarticles/exhaust/blitz_nur_spec/index.html
