http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10151&storeId=10001&productId=216002&categoryId=31528&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=31528&crumb=&varient=&CarSelectorCatalogId=&CarSelectorGroupId=

without sounding really stupid - exactly how do i do it using these stands (above), it looks like from your diagram that you put the stands in the same place as the jacking point so how the hell do i put the axel stand there to?:search:

cheers for your help

Take a look at the picture again. Jack points have the single diagonal hatching (shading) front and rear of the car, whereas axle stand points are indicated by the dotted fill at either side.

If you get down level with the side of the car you'll see two grooves approximately where the axle stand points are indicated in the picture.

Also worth noting that the Halfords axle stands (I have some) don't come with any protective blocks between the stand and the stand points on the car. Worth finding a piece of soft wood and making a groove down the centre to protect the car because unless you are putting the car up on four stands (i.e. keeping the car level), you'll end up bending the stand points out.

Hope that makes sense!
