blagging a Ride in a Single auto??

Does any kind young fellow fancy taking me for a blast in there single auto....if you have a high stall and BL box even better, I really cant make up my mind whether to up the power on the auto box or manual conversion when my single comes along??

Depends how much power you are going for. You can do a manual conversion for the cost of a BL box and high stall.

Ahh just the right man for the job!!!...John I will be using arnouts cast manifold and fabricating a kit around that.....probably aiming for a reliable 450-500 max not silly power....was thinking a BL61, I was considering R154 box and bellhousing as im not worried about the extra gear for high speed runs, but was told its not up to the torque I would be putting through the box

Your welcome to come out in mine. I have a problem with lag, so if you want putting off from stock auto box i can do that easily

Im not familiar with the R154 box, but what do the sub 10 sec cars in the states use?

Sounds like your building a car for the 1/4 more than street/drag, If so an auto would be better but for a street car im so much happier with tha manual box.

a guy on supra forums has said he went through 3 W58 box's and says the r154 is like playing russian roulette, so didnt like the sound of that much

Im really after a quick street car John but not worried about hitting 130leptons every other run tbh, which is why I though the 5-speed might be better suited! so providing I carry out the work myself doing the conversion I was maybe budgeting 2-3k for the 6-speed parts, does this sound realistic?

Yes.

Mine cost less than that in the end, but more initially. I brought a donor car so I had everything I needed and then made the money back selling parts.

Dont know if this would be viable now as it seems like every man and his dog are breaking cars.
