Heatsoak in the IC. What are the effects?

I often leave the engine running for a few to several minutes when waiting for my other half to finish at work.

I've noticed that for a while after setting off again when I plant the loud pedal I get lots of revs but a reluctance for the car to go hurtling forward. This is mostly when already travelling at m-way speeds. :innocent::eyebrows:

Is that down to heatsoak into the SMIC (a few months old CW one btw)?

After a while or If I don't leave it idling I get proper accelaration when putting my foot down.

Because pod filters that aren't shielded or ducted will sit and hoover up air at 60+degC from around the engine while stationary. However your stock airbox demonstrates that this isn't the case.

The intercooler won't get heatsoaked by idling. More likely the hoses that go to and from it.
