There will be an informal, and mostly unnarranged meet At meadowhall shopping centre on the 8th October.
Personally i am not fussed on the times of the meet, maybe early afternoon maybe late evening, or maybe meet early and stick around til later on and cruise about randomly!
Placed this on the calendar too, cos im skilled like that :p

No problems Rob
Preliminary plans were basically a meet lasting from 12 til late, family people turn up early on, and go shopping with the mrs if you want, a little later nip to a local hostelry to partake in drinking of lemonade and other beverages of a driver friendly nature (alcohol available for passengers :p ) and later still a cruise around Sheffield and Rotherham.
Each particular part is optional, and it may be that if its mainly single guys we forego the shopping and concentrate on drinking and cruising (and pulling?) but if there are more family guys there than single guys, maybe more oriented around the shopping bit
I had envisaged a fully People oriented and culturally diverse day out :D
Then i remembered, its Sheffield, people will want to booze and scrap :(

RLTC or not, I'll be behind you 'conserving petrol'. :(
As a thought though. Snake Pass out to Glossop and back along the Glossop to Penistone road. Cracking drive that bar the speed moutains in Glossop.

Just a slight pointer
This is the same day as Japshow Santa Pod, i had thought it was the Saturday, but the 8th is the Sunday :( I dont want to change it with so many people already signed. Let me know by PM if you wnt it Saturday, not Sunday :(
Sorry
Am still cool with sunday, not going to the pod. I went to TOTB and that was bad enough I imagine that the pod will be the same. :lazy:
im alright for the sunday not going elsewhere
i maybe heading the group for the snake then? :D
If you look at Snake Pass on Google Maps you can see that it is labelled 'Around the Peak District'. The route goes for miles and looks very twisty and hill in parts. In some places it is a bit difficult to see where it goes but I will write up the whole route later.
Maybe start at Ladybower and do the whole route. I may drive it this weekend in case it is a bit difficult for the lowered, kitted members. What do you all think?

If it's the normal route for snakepass to manchester there is no clearence issues what so ever as I have driven over snake pass 3 times (6 in total) with the soop and I am low and have never had any issues not even a hint of a rub anywhere.
theres a few dips and bumps which could cause a few bad bounces

Snakepass is a busy route, somehow I don't think we will get up to any speeds for the bumps to cause a problem, all the Sunday drivers will be out in force lol

Theres been a fair bit of road works on there lately nearer the snake pass Inn sort of area made it slightly uneven in places,
usually take this route 1-2 times a week with work but never been across in the supra :)

It's a peice of piss in the supra mate not even a worry TBH, the only worry is that village (dunno its name) that has those hidden green speed cameras the one with the texaco garage.
lol thats right at the end nearer stockport, i doubt we would be going that far, probably turn around in glossop?
although theres a fair few truvellos there 3i think

I'm cool with the seunday too as I won't be going to santa pod.
really looking forward to the snake pass drive, hope it goes ahead :)
RedM - a route planner thing would be great as I might be bringing a co-driver and it'll give him somthing to look at while I'm driving ;)
oh yeah route planner + my snooper
cant go wrong....
... I dont condone the use of snoopers etc as a means of speeding on public roads. :D

Nah no where near stockport, the village is called Mottram just after tintwhistle my father in law knows it
The "Around the Peak District" route.
Assuming a start near Ladybower.
-Head towards Glossop on Snake Road A57
-Turn right in the centre of Glossop onto the B6105 (Norfolk Street?). This road has speed bumps at the start and is bumpy and rutted.
-At the A628 turn right and then shortly after take a left onto the A6024.
-At Hepworth, after some proper twisties, turn right onto the B6106
-At the A616 just south of Crowedge, turn right, Continue over the A628.
-Turn right off the A616 towards Midhopestones (Mortimer Road).
-This goes on for ages before reaching the A57 again. A right turn takes you down to Ladybower.
This LINK (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=glossop&ie=UTF8&z=16&ll=53.385555,-1.662626&spn=0.00686,0.024376&t=h&om=1) ahould display Google Maps with the Peak District route visible to the North and West.
You can follow it on the map (hybrid version works best) for an idea of the drive.
im now availible 100% got the sup taxed :)

I won't make it either :(
As of last night my supra is dead... losing power to fuel pump somewhere along the line. (fuel pump works when connected to 12v supply) All fuses and relays are ok.. I'm taking the day off work tomorrow to try and figure it out :(
I too my have to bypass this maybe working at the pod. Will no tonight
so who still is coming?
I would still be up for it but does not look like anyone is going, now there is a famous saying that springs to mind, it contains the words "can't, piss up and brewery" :p

Ok, I'm fixed and still up for this if anyone else is??
Bad weather for snake pass though...
turned out it was my fuel pump controller which had died, so I did the 12v mod and now everything is spot on :d
yeah im still down for it, got the oil changed and car taxed, maybe sombody can help with my chattering problem if we meet ;)
Well if i decide to go it looks like its only 3 people unless we get more confirmed people going

Hi,
After my first meet, I would just like to say that I enjoyed the experience immensely. You guys that I met were very pleasant, friendly and very amusing. I am looking forward to meeting with you again and possibly some new Supra owners in the not too distant future.
:thanks:
Mick.
