to neon or not to neon

I have been through all this all recently, so here we go:

I wanted them, but got boo'd by the club, forum and mates.

I then ended up with some for an xmas present. Couldnt really throw them away, but put off installing them for 9 months. I installed them on my car 2 weeks ago, and I will only ever switch them on for car shows, photo-shoots, or meets.

To be totally convinced that this would happen, i installed the on/off switch in a remote location in the boot. This would a) stop any of my passengers playing with them, and b) remove the temptation for me to touch them either. So, to switch them on, i have to park up, open the boot, and flick the switch.

Also, if installing them, make sure the tubes CANNOT be seen from any angle.. I was quite lucky - my neons were Varad UL500, ie LED kit, but they are totally flat - like a ruler. Its attached to the bottom of the car, and you cannot see the actual "tube" unless you are physically under the car. :) Well chuffed!

At the end of the day, its YOUR CAR - do what YOU want. Just do it properly, and use them wisely, and you'll be a showman, not a chav :)

Although they aren't on anymore here was what it USED to look like. They have to be done right and the car has to be right forr them to look right. But each to their own.

And Jon, how on earth does a bloke with taste that made he buy a 2CV (with neons) bring him into Supra ownership?? :rlol:
