For those still going could you confirm. The date is the 28th. the meeting place is the morrisons car parkt between 5-6 pm then onto the Shovels pub at 630ish then the cruise up the lights about 830ish is that ok?

There is also a smaller meet at the Tickled Trout Hotel/Services between 4 - 4:30 (M6 Jn A59) for a cruise up the M6/M55 to Blackpool. to arrive at Morrisons for about 5:-5:30 Anyone needs to get in touch with me -pruned

Hi there,

Last year we did the Illuminations run on the last night of the illuminations. As this clashes with Bonfire night this year I have no issues with moving to the 21st of October, We dropped really lucky with traffic last year, so fingers crossed this years won't be busy either.

I know last year there were discussions about meeting up earlier for a meal and then travelling down the sea front through the "lights" How does anyone feel about doing something like this for this year?

Hi guys, trying to get something organised for this over on mkiiisupra.net and tezzpip posted it over here too. I know you guys did this last year so if anybody has some useful suggestions then I'm all ears.

I have concerns over where to meet due to what I read about the police chucking you off morrisons last year and have since read in addition to that while doing some reasearch on the cruiseblackpool.co.uk site that they have had problems with using most major car parks in the Blackpool area, Morrisons, Halfords, Tesco, B&Q etc although Yeadon Way was mentioned as a possible safe haven lol. However I've not been down that area for some time and don't know it's suitability. Any suggestions on that front please......?

Secondly for those wanting to make a day of it and not just meet up at the above loaction in the evening, what would people like to do? I suggested a drive in the Lake District or through Forrest of Bowland, however I don't know either well enough to suggest routes without some recon first. I know yourselves have organised Lakes drives before so if anybody knows some good routes round there or Forrest of Bowland then again, suggest away........

If we do the drive then I suggest a meeting place in the Preston area for that as theres no point for people coming from further a field going to Blackpool then going back towards Preston again. I was thinking of meeting around dinner time/early afternoon for that, have a few hours drive, stop for a break and a drink etc and then come back towards Blackpool area for tea time and go for a pub meal or something? Then meet up with anyone else at predetermined car park for the Illuminations Cruise?

Ok, they're my thoughts for now, as i said I think as a group you've got more experience of this then I certainly have so as many suggestions as possible would be helpful and will also ensure people are happy with the event. Thanks Ben

i can't make the 21st with being at a mate's wedding reception

as far as the car parks, the only reason there was a few questions asked by the police last year was because CruiseBlackpool had also organised their illuminations cruise on the same night & had pretty much filled one of the car parks

a couple of rows of Supras on Morrisons shouldn't have any trouble - it ain't like we rev our engines at each other or start burnouts etc :)

The guys I met on that meet were all good guys, and made me feel more than welcome. so it's not the sh***y lights you are going to see, its the guys who'll turn up - plus the looks on all the punters faces when 20 or so Supra's drive past them on the front is Priceless.

OK guys put it in your diaries, we've settled on the 28th OCTOBER It also looks like the main meeting spot should be Morrisons by Blackpool Airport. So unless we come up with other ideas for the rest of the day or if we do, you don't bother with them, that’s where we'll be.

So that moves us on nicely to the extracurricular activities, if anybody fancies them. Someone mentioned Go-Karting at Starr Gate which isn't a bad idea, but personally I'd prefer a blast in my supe than a go kart but the options there should you fancy it? Otherwise there’s the option of a drive up Lakes or Forrest of Bowland if anybody fancies that and knows a decent route?

Either way I liked the suggestion of then going for a friendly pub tea up at the Red Lion after whatever we chose before we do the Illuminations. Times ticking on so really need to get some feedback and suggestions put down now. Thanks

Did a recce this weekend, and I had thought about meeting at the Air Balloon for a meal, however, there is no way that a lot of you guys would clear the speed bumps. (particularly you Wez :D)
Someone (I think it was Domdotcom's mate) had said that Morrisons car park gets closed now, however, When I thought about it, for 1 Morrisons would still be open at about 7:00 on a Saturday, and even if it wasn't McDonalds would be. Anyway just to confirm as far as I can tell Morrisons has no barriers so that should be okay if we are well behaved, and the staff of the petrol station don't object (As I understand it this was the problem with Cruise Blackpool last year.)

If anyone can think of a place where we can meet for food reasonably close to the prom, then we could still do a meal beforehand - the only place I can think of now is either the Outside Inn by B&Q. or the one down Yeadon Way.

Straight to the end of the M55, at the roundabout turn left, follow your nose (or signs for the airport) you'll go through a speed camera (30 mph and it will be live) eventually you'll get to a big junction with a pub on the right hand side (I think it's called the halfway house) and Halfords on the Left. turn left at this junction, Morrisons is on your right now.

Mine it starting much better and is running really well on full boost :) Traction is a major issue :(

Nice. Glad its running right again. If it was on the Dyno it may mean hes almost finished then. Said he was gonna use that to test it. Although it could mean hes still strugling to find it and is running out of ideas. Hope its the first one. Hope i can come, would be good to have a blast up and down the M55 and M6 with you.

Well the bloody thing wants to do it on its own its over boosting 1.34bar, now according to some of tuners 0.1bar = about 15-20 bhp so may be ;) It was all over place today trying to get the power down today

sorry i had to bail before we got to the lights people - after sitting there & only getting halfway towards even the start of the illuminations there was no way i was going to make it through & then on to the party i was due at so i figured i may as well just head there a bit early

I don't know what time we actually got through the Starr gate, but we got to the Savoy at about 11:15 ish, so that gives you an idea of how long it took.

My optimism ran out pretty soon after that quote,

It was a real shame more of the MkIII boys didn't make it.. I think only three made it to Morrisons, one disappeared shortly after. and I think only one took part in the "Parade".

Was a pretty good turn out in all though - I reckon we had about 25 turn out. :thumbs:

once we all went to the pub i had 1 pint of real ale and was terrified by the fact i felt pi$$ed ! :wtf:
so me and my 2 friends decided to go for a quick coffee at hers,.
i got a text from Rich (rmountain05) letting me know when you guys were setting off for the lights,.
i got there just as you joined the traffic only i was on the other side of the road :( !!

even so i thought the mk3`s & mk4`s looked very nice and it was nice speaking to ratm & Rich ;)
i recognised no-one but it was great seeing all the cars :d nice one all.

Hello all, really enjoyed last night, was funny to see all the passers by; don't think too many of them were looking at the lights.

It was good to finally meet some people though and I'll see if I can make the Mascrat trip, though money energy's going to focussed on a Nur Spec now (like they weren't already!!)

I will have some extended footage from the mate standing out of my roof by next weekend so will get it posted (somewhere??) on here when I do.

:) Wicked Night out guys Great meeting upat Morrisons and over to the Shovels Pub/restraunt dont know how every body got fed :blink: it was a bit Busy !! lol ..................then there was the loooooooooooooooong wait JUST to start the lights !! but hey it was worth it !!! just to see everyones faces when they seen so many soops in a row ! dont know what was got more attension the lights or US !! :blink: Lost count of how many peeps i see pointing and counting "how many" and the photo,s/video,s that was taken i felt like a film star :innocent: LOL
So was a success great to meet some new members too and well done to supersupra666 (i think thats your ID :blink: ) and g/friend for coming from South London defo gets the "most distance traveled award"

hi all, it was a gooooood night bar us not being in the sup( water trouble ) i.e. no heating what so ever...hope nobody down rated me in the mazda, but the heating trouble has been sorted by my mate paul who you lot saw at mascrat manor this month (oct 06 ) there was a blockage of air causing no heat, so it needed quite a lot of squeezing of hoses and new thermostat...
