Corsa c 2nd gear problem

A friend of mine is having a problem changing down into second gear from 3rd she says it is very hard to get it in to gear, changing in to ever other gear is ok. But it changers up in to second ok. i have not looked or had a go in the car yet but am i right in thinking it sound's like the syncromesh.

they suffer from wear in the nylon socket joint on the gear linkage. normally hard to select 1st or 2nd its a common fault which is covered in the warranty. what year is your car?

its a 03 plate, its only second tho 1st is ok which is what made me think that the linkage was ok but def worth me having a look.

Yeh that, known reverse to be a problem too, but mainly on older ones
