Hi there!
what's:
1/ power density
2/ charge dilution
3/ engine breathing
4/ residual gas trapping
5/ fuel composition
thanks :-)
4/ I had some this morning, had to open the bathroom window for a bit.

They don't seem to mean much to us English speakers... are they American terms?

My best guesses:
1) Power density: Power divided by the engine size (also "specific power"). I.e 320bhp / 3 litres = 106hp per litre.
2) Charge dilution: Anything that dilutes the "burnable" fuel-air fixture on the induction stroke. For example: Blow-by gases and EGR.
3) Engine breathing: Could mean two things: (a) The intake and exhaust "gas exchange" process during the intake and exhaust strokes - that is, gas moving into and out of the comustion chamber. (b) The function of the crankcase ventilation (or breather system).
4) Residual gas trapping: Trapping residual (exhaust) gases in the combustion chamber, either intentionally by early exhaust valve closing (for "internal" EGR) or unintentionally through poor blow-down, reversion, big cam overlaps, etc.
5) Fuel composition: Not sure on this one. The chemical makeup of the fuel?
Hope these help.
